Just as Yao made a few steps to follow Mei to speak to him again, the door at the top of the stairs leading in opened as a cool air rushed in. Yao looked over, surprised someone would be arriving late.

Not just Yao, but the whole room fell silent as the woman came in.

She was in an elegant white dress, almost like a wedding dress or simple princess dress. Her blond hair was pulled back into a tight bun where the stray hairs that fell for her bangs and loose ends were all elegantly curled. Her skin was honey smooth and fine, and her blue eyes were intense.

Very slowly she took steps down the stairs, her heels echoing in the silence. She walked right up to Yao and smiled that gentle coral lip-stick covered smile at him.

“It’s rude to stare,” she said in a very soft intelligent voice. The kind when a woman knows a lot but takes a very smooth, almost snotty, pause to her words and lets her vowels carry.

Yao shook his head from the shock then nodded to her.

“We should talk on the balcony.” she said.

All Yao could do was nod as he followed the blond out to the balcony where it was just as silent.

After they left the room, soft whispers began to fill the air and then slowly the conversation level returned.

“Who was that?” Mei asked the tall man next to him.

“She looked like Moi,” he said with a shrug, “Must be Moi’s younger sister, Mai.”

Yao rested his palms on the balcony metal guards to support himself. “What are you doing here, Moi? You’re dead. But clearly all those people saw you just now.”

The woman nodded a slow nod, standing to walk next to Yao. “Yes. I’m an angel in heaven.”

“Why are you here?”

“Upset that I am?”

“Yes!” Yao turned a sharp glare at her.

It didn’t effect the woman at all. “Now, don’t you try and tell me you were actually starting to get over me?” she paused, smiling, “You and I both know that’s not happening.”

Yao shrugged.

“I know you want to love me until the end of time, Yao,” she said softly, “But death severs the strings of love. Let it end, Yao.”

“I can’t.”

“Yes, you can.” Moi nodded.

“No. I can’t.”

Moi slapped Yao’s cheek so his head looked away from her completely. “Don’t give me that.” But her voice remained soft and calm. “Whether you admit it or not, you’re falling in love with someone else. Let yourself love more than one person in life.”

“That’s wrong to you.”

“I’m dead. What good is your love and dedication to me?”

Yao slowly stared back at her. He never thought she’d say that to him.

Moi took in a slow heavy breath. “Yao… Let me go.”

Yao shrugged, looking away. “What do you know about humans with white angel wings?”

“They’re called valkyrie.” Moi shrugged a bit, watching him. “Why?”

“That guy in there with the pink hair’s one.”

“Really?” Moi mused, smiling gently. “Well, is he the one your heart sings to?”

Yao looked to her with disbelief she could say those type of lines so easily. “I’ve sure missed the way you talk.”

“Yao.”

“Yeah… He is.” Yao shrugged again.

“That’s not nothing,” Moi smiled at him. “It means you’re moving on.”

“I don’t want to forget you though.”

“Don’t.”

He looked to her in surprise.

“Just miss me.”

Yao nodded a bit gloomily. A second later he turned to her. “What did you really come here for?”

She smiled coyly. “Nothing can get past you~” She patted his shoulder a bit, “That valkyrie boy’s mother sent me. She said to see how he’s doing.”

“Why?”

“Not sure.” Moi shrugged. “Apparently when he was little, he was tricked by a devil and lost all his Luck. Since then, he’s been living a hard life.”

“Ah.” Yao nodded a bit looking to the scenery.

“Yao.” Moi smiled smoothly. Without moving his head, his green eyes moved to her. “Roll these dice.”

“I don’t wanna play this game anymore.” And he hurried to walk away.

Moi grabbed his elbow and pulled him back. “Yao.”

“Fine~” Yao said sarcastically. He took the two six-sided dice into his hands, shook them lightly then dropped them onto the ground without a care. Then he started to walk off. “Later, Moi.”

With a smile, Moi looked down to the dice. Then without another word she went back through the crowd of people, up the stairs and out the door.

“Seven.” She whispered as she passed Yao in the crowd. Then, once outside, she vanished into thin air.

Yao watched after her intently, but didn’t make it look so. “Freakishly inhumane good luck…” he grumbled. In everything but the one time I needed it.

There is an alternative scene to what the two discuss on the balcony.

It has more to do with the Valkyrie and less to do with the Luck. However, if this side (luck) sounds more interesting I'll go that direction.

x_x Wow the story actually clearly splits here into 1. luck or 2. valkyrie sides..... hmmmm..........
