Finding out that the world was against him, Hiero took in a shallow slow steady breath. This would have to be done with more care than normal – sneaking into Cyril's room, that is. Hiero staked out the alleyway just outside the apartment complex Cyril lived at – but Hiero had come here often enough to know that Cyril didn't live in the building. The young man lived in a small single person's apartment unit down a set of stairs around the main building. There were only four apartments down there, and none of which shared a wall, their personal storage units between the four. Their ceiling connected to the basement and storage of th

Will was walking around Matéas's house. The courtyard led to that special tree, but the rest of the building was designed like a manor, the tree at the center. Unlike Phyte's place, the manor was dark, echoing colors of purple, green and blue, with small pops of red. The floors seemed to be dark green leaves that would stabilize under Will's feet as he stepped onto them. The rooms were mostly empty, save for a few murals and paintings, or potted plants- surely poisonous.
Near the back of the manor, Will found a narrow circular staircase that took him up to the second floor. The rooms here were enclosed with pillars and banisters to the

Holding his breath, blood dripping of him, Cyril looked around the darkened room. The chandelier was swinging back and forth, left over from the rompous fighting that had been taking place in the room just a few minutes before. It's soft green light shifted left, right and around, making painful squeaking noises as it moved; illuminating the blood on the floor, barrels ladder to the upstairs and the fallen bodies.
Cyril gripped the hilt of his sword when he heard the wood creak above him. Something was still up there. Was it another person infected with the Insanity? His airways tightened, his lungs swelling as the smell of the freshly kille
The sight before Hiero was horrifying. Spread out along the beautiful grass were dead bodies of birds- their blood littering the scene. He was unable to blue his blue eyes from the scene, and hardly felt the tears that fell to his cheeks. His mouth was gaping open. Sadness and anger were sweeping over him like a wave – who could kill these marvelous creatures like that? The birds were white with a few crest feathers above their eyes colored blue, and from their tails came several long feathers that were a beautiful mix of blue, green and purple. Almost three dozen of these once magnificent birds were dead.
Frustrated by his emotions an

Sighing, Sajiko looked around himself at the dank cellar he had been shoved into. It felt tight and confining, moist and warm. The stone he was standing on was cool underneath his bare feet. His red eyes ran up to the stone steps and archway, leading to the heavy wooden door he'd been shoved through just moments ago.
The muffled sounds of grunts, groaning and metal scraping together echoed through. It was too indistinct to tell what was happening.
Sajiko knew, he understood; He was shoved down here to keep him safe from the attacker above, the man Sajiko had barely met earlier, Tan. The man was crazed, deluded that if he killed Sajiko, he'

Tripping, he fell face first into the dirt. His mouth was filled with damp soil that stuck to his teeth. Groaning, he shifted up, never caring about his appearance. A quick glance over his shoulder, and he saw the red flames licking their way closer to him. The fire was spreading at an alarming rate considering how wet the forest seemed when he set up camp earlier that night.
“Oh shit.” He gasped, stumbling to his feet. He tripped over falling leaves and foliage as he started running away from the fire. As he ran, dirt fell from his face. “What to do-” he asked himself quickly, panting for air. “Fire, fire, what

“After him!” Ikato called, jumping over the back of the sofa, just barely missing the small bookshelf behind it.
“He's too fast!” Lyue commented as he ran around the sofa to corner the white kitten at the doorway on his right.
Ikato ran up to his side, the flea medicine in one hand. “Really. He was already asleep. Why did you wake him up?”
“Me wake him up?” Lyue looked at him in surprise, the kitten dashing between his feet, around the sofa and into the bedroom.
“Yes!” Ikato scolded, hurrying around the sofa to the door. “You were the one who was like 'who's a cute kitty? W

Ikato stared at Lyue for a long hard moment, making the blond take in a cautious breath. His bright teal eyes, almost the color of jade, were focused on the little earrings in Lyue's palm that he had outstretched.
“Y-ya see?” Lyue asked. “This is how I flew up here.”
Ikato, with his arms crossed, lowered his eye lids. “Impossible. Such technological advances shouldn't be possible on Terra.”
Lyue tightened his fist around the metal, pulling it back to his body. “Excuse me?! What's that supposed to mean? That you're some high and might superior ass being, hanging around up here on your floaty metal c

Holding his breath, his eyes fell shut. Standing on a dock that stretched far out into the lake waters, the silence was palpable. The air was hot and moist, but a cool breeze flew by, picking up chills from the water's rippling surface. As the breeze ghosted its hand through his dark chocolate hair, tickling his nose with sweet scents of the nature around him, Dareka opened his eyes slowly. The sunlight blinded him at first, but it settled and disappaited, his eyes adjusting within a few seconds.
“I'm back,” called a familiar robust voice from behind him. Dareka turned around to see Konya's smiling face. The wind was brushing thr
A minor character or long-lost/dead main character makes a surprise appearance to the MC, wearing/carrying a mysterious item.
Will gasped, his eyes wide. He'd chased the odd apparition up to the atrium, where it stopped next to the piano. It was see-through – clearly a ghost, but Will could make out her gentle features, and wavy hair. Her dress was shockingly plain for having been married to the Grand Duke in life, and looked to be woven of spiderwebs and silkworm thread to create a beautiful plain lace that clung to her figure, and yet draped enough to make her appear modest and graceful.
She didn't look like the same as the last ti
